What is the Verminarium?

Some people have a sunroom, which is called a solarium.  You keep fish in an aquarium.  I have a special room for my hobby breeding fancy mice, which my husband lovingly christened the Verminarium.

My name is Elise Oppenheimer and I’ve been breeding pet mice for about 10 years now. I’ve always loved animals.  When I was a child I was enthralled with my neighbor’s pair of white mice, which she taught to run elaborate routes around the room on rulers and ropes. In 2003 I had a tough year for various reasons and decided that even though it seemed a bit odd, I needed something positive so I was going to indulge myself and explore breeding mice as a hobby.

I’ve earned the nickname “Compassgrl: She Who Has No Sense Of Direction” by turning the wrong way every time there’s a choice, and in one of my more stellar performances, getting lost INSIDE a Fuddrucker’s restaurant.  Let’s just say I use that part of my brain for other things and let it go.  GPS is the invention of the century.  Followed immediately by SmartTag.

Verminarium Mousery almost always has some babies available, if I haven’t updated the site recently just email me at compassgrl@verminarium.com and see what’s going on today.
